SENECA ON UNIVERSAL SERENDIPITY

Seneca illustrates that endings can lead to positive new beginnings, emphasizing the importance of embracing change and trusting life’s unexpected outcomes as part of universal serendipity.

Seneca, was a Roman stoic philosopher. As a writer, Seneca is known for his philosophical works, and for his plays. His prose works include 12 essays and 124 letters. Seneca (the younger) said:

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”

He’s saying that when one door closes, another one opens.  And that’s totally universal serendipity in action!

Think about it: sometimes things happen that seem bad or “unlucky” at first, like losing a job or breaking up with someone. But those “endings” actually lead to awesome new beginnings I never expected. Maybe I’ll end up finding an even higher fulfilling occupation, or meeting the new love of my life!

Universal serendipity is all about being open to those unexpected twists and turns, and trusting that when things seem to be falling apart, something good will come out of it. Does the universe have a plan? Prolly. Do I know it? No, I don’t. And sometimes that plan involves a little chaos to get me where I need to be? Very likely so.

When facing an ending, I don’t freak out!  I remember Seneca’s words and embrace the change. Likely, an amazing new beginning is waiting just around the corner.
