DISCONNECTED FRIENDS

DISCONNECTED FRIENDS

I just found out yesterday about the passing of another dear friend.

As adults we tend to get caught up in work, kids, day to day stresses and activities.
We think about old friend’s family members, and think to ourselves “I haven’t talked to so and so in a while” or “I need to stop in and visit so and so, and see how they’re doing”……but then we get distracted by a million different things in our lives, and we say tomorrow for sure!
But tomorrow is NOT for sure.

I’ve just had life smack me in the face with that lesson.
I have been meaning to stop by and visit with this friend for the past 6 weeks.
Now I can’t.
Now it’s too late.
Now I have a heart full of things I need to say.
I took the moment for granted, and thought tomorrow or next week I would have more time in my schedule.

LESSON: When you find yourself thinking that you miss someone, or that a visit is overdue… pick up your phone and call right then! Even if it’s a five minute call… Stop what you’re doing, and make the call, go and visit, establish the connection, because tomorrow is not for sure for you or them.
You rarely know how precious a moment is when it’s happening, but it becomes priceless once you realize it was your last opportunity.

RIP dear friend, you were an extraordinary lady.
