Attracting the Cure

ATTRACTING THE CURE

Cancer patients can attract the cure over their disease through living in alignment with the Law of Attraction.  The Law of Attraction is a life tool.  It is most useful in the unwelcomed situation of the necessity to battle cancer.  This life tool in the context of a cancer diagnosis is an instrument that facilitates survival.

Struggling to achieve a cure, or a remission in a situation of metastatic cancer is a must win existential struggle.   Even a clinical remission is a worthwhile achievement.

In this clinical context the Law of Attraction, as always, consists of two elements:

  • Mindset The mindset is about clarity.
  • Skillset The skillset is about activity.

When a patient and their family, friends and social network know those elements they are in possession of this life tool.

In the instance of cancer – knowledge of the Law of Attraction – is power.

The Mindset starts with clarity of the will to live.  The patient has to possess the will to live and a will to seek the cure of cancer.

The mindset has two components. One is accepting and internalizing the fundamental premise that there is a cure.  There is definitely a remission.  There is healing. The same applies to the patients’ family circle and their social network.  The family circle must share the mindset that there is a cure and life will continue although with unexpected episodes of pain and obstacles.

Second, the mindset requires that winning the battle against cancer involves more than a single person’s knowledge and expertise.  The successful fight against cancer is done by pooling the experience of several minds – a brain trust of experts.  That is represented by the rule of always seeking a second or third opinion and considering alternatives.  And there are always alternatives.

The Skillset consists of life style, behavioral and technical adaptations.  Daily habits and life style will inevitably change by the patients and their family and friends.  The cancer patients and their immediate family adapt to new life order.

The skillset is about taking action.  First, cancer patients get active – they seek advice and input from as many specialists as is feasible.  They listen to other patients’ experience.

Second. It means actively seeking and finding the right doctor for additional opinion – one or two other oncologists.  A nurse oncologist is there to follow the patient during chemotherapy.  A nutritionist assists with dietary planning along the path for recovery.  Visit periodically with a psychologist or a therapist.  Mental health counselors get involved in overcoming the reactive depression that commonly hits the cancer patient.  A spiritual counselor or pastor walks along with the patient.  The spiritual counselor assists cancer patients in finding and maintaining meaning to their life.  Without meaning in life the cancer patients will not be able to stoke the fires of their will to live.  Supplication prayer promotes healing and the cure by focusing the thoughts on healing and the cure.

Thirdly – education therapy – cancer patients and family must be informed.  They ask their healthcare providers pertinent questions.  They gather the questions with the assistance of their family members, their friends, and their social network in church or a support group.  The questions include information about the newest drugs, experimental drugs and treatment protocols.   Sharing stories of successful cures. There are support group for almost any class of cancer.

There are excellent resources of information on the internet.  The best and richest internet sites are patient oriented sites set by the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society.

Fourth, to win the battle against cancer the patient is better off in getting care in large oncology centers.  Large centers are likely to have the most modern technology and the best experience drawn from treating large numbers of cancer patients with same diagnoses.

In summary – in order to win the battle on cancer the patient must maintain a clear mindset of the will to live.  Actively attract skilled specialists and allied healthcare providers.  Actively participate in support groups.  Attract and adopt specific new life style changes that are required of them to win the battle with cancer.

THE BEST GIFT EVER

Guest Blog Written by Paul F. Arnhold

The Best Gift Ever

What do you want for Christmas?  As a child, perhaps it was a new wagon, toys or that shiny red bike you’ve admired ever since that trip with grandpa to the department store.

Did you always get what you’ve wanted? Or, did you get what your parents knew you needed?  Somehow those clothes and new boots didn’t excite you all that much.

When you were a child yourself, do you remember what it was like to wait in anticipation for your gifts?  Just when you thought you had opened all the boxes of socks, shirts, and underwear, here comes Grandpa wheeling out that brand new red bike.  Though it was winter, you wanted to ride that bike and show all your friends, your best gift ever.

I’d like to tell you about a gift that we neither requested, nor deserved; a gift that our heavenly Father knew we needed and graciously gave us.  This gift didn’t have fancy wrapping paper. In fact it was wrapped in strips of linen.  And while it didn’t look like much to some people, it turns out that the value is priceless. That gift is eternal life in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our heavenly Father does listen to our wants, but always gives us our needs in life. He gives us our daily bread, loved ones to share life with, and necessary clothing.  Most importantly, He also gave us our Savior to free us from sin.  That is by far our greatest need.  But it is not our nature to let the God who gives life be the center of our lives, because we are born with sin. In Psalm 51:5 the writer David says “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.” And as Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

At creation, God made a perfect world.  In that perfect world he made a perfect place for his creation, Adam and Eve, to live.  God gave them everything.  They didn’t have to work hard like we do or sense frustrations from things not going well.  They were completely free to love God.  After all, they were created in God’s own image. God gave them a special tree, that tree would be their place of worship – Adam and Eve’s way to say, “thank you” to God.  This tree was called “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”  With this tree God gave one simple command.

“ You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”

It didn’t take long for God’s nemesis, Satan, to find who and what God created and try to destroy it by putting doubt in the minds of Adam and Eve.  “…Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.” Eve did what we all do at times and put up a protective fence around her desires.  By depending on the law and not God’s love, we lose focus of the gift.  When Satan recognized Eve added words to what God commanded he knew his plan would succeed. Satan was angry, for he had just been tossed from heaven along with his followers, fellow angels who went against God and His authority.  He disguised himself as a snake. By mixing truth with lies he made Eve doubt God and His word.  This tempted Eve and she and Adam ate the fruit from the tree

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”

Our first parents tried to hide from God and cover up their sin.  But God found them and confronted Adam.  Adam blamed God for the wife he gave him. “The woman you put here with me–she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” Eve blamed the devil; “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” At that point, the world would never be the same.

Then an amazing thing happened.  Instead of the punishment and eternal death they deserved, The Lord promised to fix the problem. Even after mankind’s disobedience God showed his undeserved love to them and to us!  He rescued Adam and Eve from death by promising to send a Savior from sin.  God kept his promise.  God’s Son, Jesus, was born and grew up to suffer and die as payment for all disobedience and sin ever committed.  He rose from the dead to guarantee that the debt of sin has been paid in full.  Now, life is restored.  In John 10:10 Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it in full ” as he prophesied through Isaiah;

Is 53:4 “Surely He took on our infirmities and carried our sorrows…”

Why didn’t our Lord simply destroy Adam and Eve and start over?  By saving them, God was able to demonstrate his great love and mercy.  He also loves you and wants you in heaven.  In fact at creation He even had you in mind.

“ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…”

The fact is he loves you so much that God Himself fulfilled his own prophecy on the cross.  The sinless Son of God gave His life so that you and I, miserable sinners, could live. What an amazing act of undeserved love!

“For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. ”Eph 2:8,9.

Simply believing that there is a god will not save you, but believing the promise of our Lord that He would send a savior will give you eternal life.   Jesus did come.  He is the most perfect gift our Heavenly Father could give to his children. It cost Jesus His life, but it was a price he was willing to pay, because He knew it was what His Heavenly Father demanded and was necessary to save you!  And when he rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, Jesus guaranteed that our sins were forgiven.

When you get a special gift from someone, you want to let everyone know what you got.  Just like the little boy who wanted to show all his friends his brand new bike, we, as Christians, have the desire to share with others our “best gift” the wonderful message of God’s love to a sinful world.

Take the opportunity to thank our Lord for the wonderful gift of His Son by going where he still comes to us with his gifts.  As we take this time of year to reflect on the “perfect gift” sent to earth to redeem a lost world, remember, A worship service isn’t about the praise and gifts we bring.  It is “His service” for us!

He serves us through His Word, and Sacraments. And he leaves us with hope, joy, and the peace that transcends all understanding, even that of His angels. The peace we have when we see God’s face turned toward us instead of away from us. The peace we have when we see his love smiling on us and forgiving us in Christ. The peace we have when we know and believe that he is our loving Father who guides us every stumbling step we take as his children. The peace we have when we know and believe that when we step out of this life, he will take us to heaven.

Jesus may not have been on the top of your Christmas list this year, but be thankful you were tops on His!

UBER-AUTOGRAPHED

A book is uber-autographed.

What is an uber-autographed book?

A book is uber-autographed when it was signed (autographed) by its author – twice or more – in different venues at different dates.   The book may be uber-autographed more than twice, say three times (or more).

A book signed by its author has an increased value to book collectors.

Book uber-signing in two venues or more adds value because of the time, effort and costs involved in uber-autographing.

The book-signing took place in unique and difficult to reach venues.  The book-signing must be witnessed and documented by photography.  Each uber-autographed copy is unique and must be accounted for numerically.

Copies of the book, “The Vision of HabakkuK. The Law of Attraction in the Holy Bible”, were signed by the author in two different venues at different dates in the presence of witnesses.  The act of signing was photographed.

Example:

The first unique book-signing event took place in Four Corners USA on August 29, 2011.  Four Corners is where the borders of four States (Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico meet), is a difficult place to reach.  Further, this geographical point is arguably a virtual point (it may not exist because it belongs to none of the Four States).  The author position is that he signed his books in Four States at the Same Moment in Time.

Several signed and serialized copies of this book (The Vision of HabakkuK) were uber-autographed on the Equator at the Mitad del Mundo venue in Ecuador on November 27, 2014 – Thanksgiving Day in the U.S.  The book was uber-autographed on both Northern and Southern Hemispheres at the same moment in time.

During the same event, copies of the book “The Master Attractor. The Law of Attraction in the Holy Bible & Beyond” were also signed.

The uber-autographed copies of “The Vision of HabakkuK” are available for sale through the author – Dr. Mandy (Menahem) Lender.

Serious buyers can contact the author directly expressing their interest.

Copies of the initial book-signing in 2011is available here:

WHAT WOULD PICASSO DO?

Guest Blog by national marketing expert and master attractor Steve Olsher.

WHAT WOULD PICASSO DO?

Nature vs. Nurture. Tomato vs. Tomatoe. Evolution vs. Creationism. Rifles vs. Hugs. Republican vs. Democrat.

Pick a subject, any subject, throw it out in the middle of a conversation and, lord knows, if there’s folks there with a pulse, an interesting dialogue will ensue as the attendees happily (or angrily) take a stand for their beliefs.

One of the most highly debated business discussions revolves around ‘hours for dollars’ vs. ‘dollars for expertise’. ‘Hours for dollars’ being 60 minutes, a multiple or fraction thereof, and a perceived maximum price that anyone in their right mind should pay for someone to devote to them (as a coach, counselor, consultant, tradesman, etc.) over that period of time. ‘Dollars for expertise’ being the value of the knowledge and/or ability one brings to the table and how much she who has achieved Unconscious Competence* in this area of focus chooses to charge for someone to gain access to their expertise.

Masters of their craft will argue that their level of compensation lies, not within the amount of time spent helping someone achieve their desired objective but, instead, in the value of the years invested that it required for them to attain such mastery. Buyers, on the other hand, will argue that one’s price must be on par with comparable market rates and, if someone’s stated compensation is outside of customary ‘norms’, the buyer will likely choose to hire a competitor whose rates are lower to complete the task at hand.

It’s an interesting discussion that has no shortage of opinions. While there are no right or wrong answers, at the end of the day, the buyer reserves the right to choose with whom she’d like to work.

And you, as the seller, have the same rights. Consider the following example…

Legend has it that Pablo Picasso was sketching in the park when a bold woman approached him. “It’s you — Picasso, the great artist! Oh, you must sketch my portrait! I insist.”

So Picasso agreed to sketch her. After studying her for a moment, he used a single pencil stroke to create her portrait. He handed the women his work of art. “It’s perfect!” she gushed. “You managed to capture my essence with one stroke, in one moment. Thank you! How much do I owe you?”

“Five thousand dollars,” the artist replied. “B-b-but, what?” the woman sputtered. “How could you want so much money for this picture? It only took you a second to draw it!”

To which Picasso responded, “Madame, it took me my entire life.”

(The untold part of the story is that Picasso then took back the sketch, spit on it, stomped on it, lit a match and burned it as he scowled at the woman and, in his best French accent, told her to ‘piss off’ and returned to finishing the masterpiece he was working on. Now, mind you, I have no proof that this untold ending is true, but it’s fun for me to create un-debatable scenarios.)

So, would you have paid Picasso $5,000 for the sketch? Perhaps yes, perhaps no. One thing is certain, however, Picasso earned the right to charge whatever he’d like… and, droves of people were willing to pay him at his desired level of compensation.

Far too often, business owners spend waaaaaaay too much time focusing on what their competition is up to and what they charge for, what might be perceived as, similar services. Fact is, there will ALWAYS be competition. Some will have higher-priced offerings and provide shit service. While others will have lower-priced offerings and provide outstanding service.

And, you can’t do anything about either.

Your goal is to stop competing in commodity-driven circles, gain clarity on one specific subset of the population you’re most compelled to serve, and then serve them with strategic abandon. Ultimately, your objective is to become the go-to person in your well-earned area of expertise and have those who need you most banging down your door for you to help them… and then name your price to do so.

You’ll never win the ‘dollars-for-hours’ game, nor should you try. The inevitable result of attempting to do so is non-existent margins, over-worked employees and a downward spiral of morale that inevitably leads straight towards bankruptcy.

So what can you do? The answer? Add value to the lives of your clients… significant value… and recognize that you are the solution to their problem. They are literally praying for you to show up in their life.

When someone is facing a wall and has no way around it, they would pay (almost) anything for someone with a bulldozer to obliterate the obstacle that stands before them. And, while you should always have awareness as to what your competition is doing, pay it minimal attention because what they’re up to truly has ZERO bearing on the impact you’ll have on those who need you most.

Your goal must be to answer this one, incredibly crucial question… “Who are YOUR people?”

When the answer is clear, you’ll inevitably focus on those you’re most compelled to serve. And, when you combine this knowledge with Picasso’s confidence to ask for $5,000 for a minute’s work, they’ll inevitably pay you what you know you are worth.

Time to raise your rates.

A SIXTEEN YEARS OLD LEARNED TO PRACTICE THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

A SIXTEEN YEARS OLD LEARNED TO PRACTICE THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

The Law of Attraction (LOA) is an involuntary neuro-physiological phenomenon.  It has been known for thousands of years to thoughtful humans who we refer to sometimes as highly intelligent.

The LOA is the principle that makes a “Bucket List” transform into reality.  Folks who create a bucket list live to see many listed items manifest in their lives.

The author and world traveler Chris Guillebeau published a blog interview with Kristen Goldberg who at the age of 16 innocently created for herself a bucket list.  She wrote down her bucket list and from that time on to present (now 37 years old mother of two), watched the bucket list manifest in her life.

In her interview Goldberg explains to Guillebeau how the manifestation process works for her:

“I find that, often, once I pick my items for the year, things fall into place to help me accomplish those goals. For example, last year, when I decided to visit Walden, I found a weeklong teacher professional development program that would take me in depth in Walden Woods.

Focusing like this, as opposed to taking a less organized approach, helps me to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. I think there is something to the concept that when you put an intention out there, the stars align a bit to make the task easier.”

Simply stated: this is the LOA working in her life.

PAUL F. ARNHOLD – GUEST BLOG: LUTHERAN REFORMATION – RESTORATION OF TRUTH

Guest Blog by Paul F. Arnhold:

LUTHERAN REFORMATION – RESTORATION OF TRUTH

It was October 31 1517, “All Hallows’ Eve” the day before All Saints’ Day, when Dr. Martin Luther nailed the infamous 95 theses on the castle church doors in Wittenberg Germany, named “All Saints Church”

The 95 Theses (statements) were written in Latin, inviting members of the university community to debate the issue of the church’s practice of selling indulgences. It was actually a common practice to post statements of intent for debate in this fashion.

Elector Frederick the Wise collected and displayed a great number of relics. To raise money for the building of St. Peter’s Church in Rome, the Pope allowed the sale of indulgences all over Germany.  Luther objected to what he called, worthless pieces of paper which promised people release from the punishment of their sins in purgatory in exchange for a payment of money.

Luther’s intent was never to start a new church but to resurrect the original teachings of the church. Therefore the term reform would be better understood using its adjective form, meaning to restore.

For centuries, the Roman Catholic Church had been plagued by false doctrines, superstition, ignorance, and corruption.  Since most ordinary Christians were illiterate and had little knowledge of the Bible, they relied on their clergy for religious instruction and guidance.  Tragically however, monks, priests, bishops, and the popes in Rome taught unbiblical doctrines like purgatory, praying for the dead, and salvation through good works.  People tried to justify themselves by the law as Luther once did, by what they did; yet left wondering, if they had ever done enough to appease God’s righteous anger and escape his punishment.

The truth of the gospel — the good news that God is loving and merciful, that He offers each and every one of us forgiveness and salvation not because of what we do, but because of what Christ has already done for us on the cross — was largely forgotten by both clergy and laity.  The Holy Spirit used an Augustinian monk and university professor to restore the gospel to its rightful place as the cornerstone doctrine of Christianity.

In 1521 Emperor Charles summoned Luther to come to a meeting of the German princes called the diet of worms.  He told Luther that he did not want to hear a debate on the Biblical truths, but only an admission from Luther that his teachings were wrong.

After pray fully thinking over his answer for a day, Luther said, “Unless you can prove from the Bible that I have made wrong statements, I cannot and will not take anything back. The Word of God binds my conscience.  Here I stand.  I cannot do otherwise.  God Help me. Amen”

Because of Luther’s refusal, the emperor declared him a heretic and “outlaw” whom anyone could kill after 20 days.  Elector Frederick however saved Luther by having him kidnapped and taken to a secluded castle called Wartburg.  He stayed there about a year and while there translated the New Testament into the common German language so that laity could read the Bible for themselves. (Published in 1522 and with the help of others, the entire bible by 1534)

Over time, Martin Luther and his colleagues came to understand that if we sinners had to earn salvation by our own merits and good works, we would be lost and completely without hope.  But through the working of the Holy Spirit, the reformers rediscovered the gospel — the wonderful news that Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose to redeem and justify. “ Now the just shall live by faith”

It’s been nearly 500 years since the reformation, so why is it still relevant today, after all, hasn’t much changed over the years?  There is one thing that does not and cannot change, the truth of God’s Word.  Here we still stand!

The Council of Trent, an important Catholic council called to reject the teachings of the Reformation, went so far as to curse the biblical doctrine of salvation by grace alone through faith alone. It declared:

“If anyone says that justifying faith is nothing else than trust in divine mercy, which remits sins for Christ’s sake, or that it is by trust alone by which we are justified, let him be damned [anathema] (Canon XII).”

This and many similar statements are still official Catholic teachings.

The new Catholic catechism and other contemporary documents still teach that salvation is by a combination of faith and works.

As Christians, we are concerned for those around us who do not adhere to God’s Word in all its saving truth. Our compassion is for souls that are being led away from the truth, which is the only thing that saves. God’s own Word makes it so clear and simple. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” God’s elect hold tenaciously to that Word, as they live their lives free in the truth and the light of the Gospel.

Sola gratia – Grace alone

Sola fide – Faith alone

Sola Scriptura – Scripture alone

“Salvation unto us has come By God’s free grace and favor; Good works cannot avert our doom, They help and save us never. Faith looks to Jesus Christ alone, Who did for all the world atone; He is our one Redeemer.” CW 390 stanza 1 – Martin Luther.

Guest Blog: In the News – Assisted suicide

Guest Blog post written by Paul F. Arnhold:

In the News – Assisted suicide

I saw it on the national news this morning.  A woman diagnosed with cancer decides to move to a state where assisted suicide is legal. Her plan is to end her own life before the cancer does.   You hear the acclamations of bravery from the newscasters.  They may also hope the selfless act that this woman might carry out would further the cause by setting an example that could evoke a change to allow nationwide acceptance.  Or is secular humanism simply playing the god it really is?  What does God’s Word have to say?

Isaiah 55 in part says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
 so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” This conflicts with human reason and our natural condition doesn’t it?  Yet the Christian through faith in God’s Word reflects what the psalmist declares “But I trust in you, Lord;
I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands…”

Quote from wels.net Q&A:

“The Bible reports six cases of suicide: Abimelech (Judges 9:52-54), Saul (1 Samuel 31:4), Saul’s armor-bearer (1 Samuel 31:5), Ahithophel (2 Samuel 17:23), Zimri (1 Kings 16:15-20), and Judas Iscariot (Matthew 27:3-5). Some would include Samson (Judges 16:25-30) in the list, yet his death was not a selfish act of self-destruction but a self-sacrificing act similar to that of a soldier who sacrifices himself for his fellow soldiers. His final act did not reflect despair and hopelessness but a prayerful trust in the true God. For this reason he is mentioned among the people of faith in Hebrews 11:32. However, this was not the case with the other six that were mentioned above. They acted in despair and unbelief and forfeited any hope of heaven.

But even though the examples of suicide mentioned in the Bible are all negative, this does not mean that every person who takes his or her own life is eternally lost. Perhaps a person is suffering from a psychological disorder. Like other organs and parts of the body, the brain can also malfunction. Or perhaps someone in a moment of emotion crisis acts rashly and takes his or her own life. We cannot say in each of these cases that the person acted in unbelief. And finally it is unbelief that condemns us to eternal punishment, not any particular sin per se. Likewise it is trust in the crucified and risen Savior that saves us—not because we lived a good life, and not because we died a good death, but because he lived and died in our place.”

It is not our nature, to let the God who gives life be the center of our lives, because we are born with sin. In Psalm 51:5 the writer David says “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.”  It is our nature as sinful people to want to control our own destiny, to control those around us and to do as we please.  Sinful people will often do what is natural – that is, sin.  Suicide is sin.  Assisted suicide is murder.  It is taking life from a person when only God is the one in charge of life!  There is no government legislation, court ruling or medical advancement that can change that fact. In John 10:10 Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it in full.”  God created the perfect life, and then restored it again through Jesus.

In Jesus we find hope for this life and for the life to come.  Only through Jesus is there forgiveness of our sins and relief for our guilt.  Only in Jesus do we have peace to face the difficulties of each day with confidence.  Only by Jesus are we able to have life today and eternal life in the future.
